The breathtaking
City of Puyallup (pronounced Pew-al-up) is conveniently placed at the center
of desired vacation
spots such as mountains and the ocean within eastern Pierce County and in the
Puget Sound region. Puyallup is a mere 10 miles
east of Tacoma and a short commute, 35 miles, south of Seattle. Puyallup boasts
a proud community of 33,000 residents who
enjoy excellent schools, a diversified economy and plenty of cultural and recreational
opportunities. The city’s historic
downtown area is alive with activity. The Puyallup library, senior center and
a multitude of shops are located in the
district that plays host to numerous community events throughout the year. The
Western Washington Fair or Puyallup Fair is a
17-day event including free entertainment, its own concert series, animal exhibits,
rides, and more. The Puyallup Fair is
easily considered Washington State’s most popular event and one of the
premier fairs in the nation. Known for its great
schools and safe neighborhoods, Puyallup’s South Hill is currently one
of the fastest growing areas of Pierce County and the
region, attracting young families from all over.
